Hello!  My name is Dr. Nancy Aboulmouna and I'm a physician, nutritionist, educator, and an advocate for integrative medicine. In light of the recent COVID pandemic, I currently also serve as a Licensed Medical Professional (LMP) / Medical Officer for the CDC's Division of Global Migration and Quarantine (DGMQ).

As a licensed naturopathic physician and having practiced Integrative and Functional medicine, I understand the significant impact it has on both chronic and acute conditions.  Many of my patients have been living with conditions for years, with no effective treatment available to improve their quality of life.  There is nothing more rewarding than knowing the positive impact our therapeutic and individualized treatments have had on restoring balance and health.

Prior to opening our doors here at Cedars Natural Healthcare (CNH), I practiced naturopathic, and integrative and functional medicine at the George Washington University Center of Integrative Medicine (GWCIM).  Our CNH clinic is now a partner of  GWCIM, expanding access to a broader range of services for our patients.

I am a firm believer that lifestyle medicine is at the crux of good health. As such, a complete assessment of lifestyle, medical history, and past treatments offer perspectives unique to each patient for individualized treatment .While a medical student in CT, I had the privilege of rotating on community clinic shifts in underserved areas.  With limited available clinic resources, coupled with a patient base that had limited resources, I learned how to integrate healthy lifestyle and therapeutic practices that were accessible to our patients.  Despite scarce resources, the impact of our individualized treatments was significant. In keeping with my personal will to serve our local community, I joined the board of directors for AIM Health Institute , a local non-profit dedicated to providing integrative medicine to vulnerable populations in our area. For more information on AIM health institute, please visit https://www.healthaim.org/ .

I am also an adjunct professor of both graduate and undergraduate nutrition at American University.  I discovered my love for teaching after graduating medical school and taking a adjunct professor position while studying for my medical boards. I believe teaching does not end in the classroom! It is something I also practice with my patients. I truly believe that knowledge, especially when it comes to our health, is empowerment!

As a member of your health team, I look forward to assisting you on your journey to restoring health and balance!
